The UCPN-Maoist has called for a national budget, breaking the trend of traditional one, to address the issues of Nepali people as a whole.
A Parliamentary Party meeting of the UCPN-Maoist held today morning deiced to ask the government to bring the national budget that would benefit Nepalis, UCPN-Maoist lawmaker Bhakti Pandey said, after the meeting.
The party has formed a task-force under the coordination of Parliamentary Party deputy leader Top Bahadur Rayamajhi – to hold talks with the government on budget – including chief whip Girirajmani Pokharel, UCPN-Maoist secretary Barshaman Pun and lawmaker Janak Raj Joshi.
“The coalition government – of Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML – is planning to bring a budget with their programmes in the name of earthquake victims,” he said, adding that the party has decided to put pressure on the government to bring a national consensus budget, which will benefit not only their cadres but the Nepali people as a whole.
The parliamentary meeting of the party also focused on the need to incorporate national pride projects in the budget for the ext fiscal year 2015-16.
The UCPN-Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Dr Baburam Bhattarai were not present in the parliamentary meeting.
