Tour De’ Lumbini – Pedal for Peace (TDL-P4P) and World Cyclist Foundation Nepal are co-organising ‘Tour De’ Lumbini 2014’, a four-day cycle rally to celebrate peace and promote adventurous eco-tourism.
The event – in partnership with Lumbini Development Trust – is promoted by Nepal Tourism Board and supported by Cycle City Network Nepal, Nepal Telecom and Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
TDL-P4P has felicitated two very important people – ambassador of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka W M Senevirathna and social entrepreneur Dr Mahabir Pun – who have come forward to support the event and to help promote the event as a global challenge in the near future and to help us spread the message of peace and harmony worldwide, today.
Senevirathna has gracefully accepted the nomination as honourary advisor to TDL-P4P board to provide his guidance and direction to develop the event as a regionally and globally, the press note said, adding that he will help further promote Lumbini and the message and peace and harmony in the region. “As, Sri Lanka is one of the prominent Buddhist country and has very cordial relationship with Nepal we feel that with Senevirathna’s direction and guidance will enable us to develop the event internationally.”
Likewise, Pun, who has won numerous awards and accolades including the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay award 2007 for his contribution in the development of remote and rural Nepal through wireless technology, has also gracefully accepted request to become our brand ambassador and has assured his support to further promote the cause and the event globally, the press note added.
