Asia Pacific countries started a two-day discussion on wide range of issues like policy-level interventions and related constraints in implementation of thermal energy programmes, investment of private sector and industrial use of thermal energy.
Representatives from Nepal, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Pakistan and Phillipines are taking part in the workshop, ‘Scaling up Renewable Energy for Thermal Applications-Best Practices and Business Opportunities’, which is supported by the Asian Development Bank.
On the first day of the event organised by Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC), participants from 10 countries from the Asia Pacific brainstormed on areas to exchange appropriate technologies of thermal energy that could be studied on promoting industrial-level utilisation.
