National Planning Commission (NPC) decided to form committees that will suggest revamp in organisational structure, and also to monitor development projects throughout the nation.

A meeting of the commission yesterday chaired by Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at his official residence in Baluwatar decided to form a committee that will submit organisational revamp report within three months, whereas high-level teams will monitor the development projects across the country.

Vice chair of the commission Dr Govinda Prasad Pokhrel will lead a monitoring team in Rapti and Bheri zones, whereas commission members Govinda Nepal and Yagya Bahadur Karki will monitor development works in Gandaki, Lumbini and Dhaulagiri zones. Likewise, commission members Bharatendu Mishra and Bimala Rai Paudyal will monitor development works in Janakpur, Narayani and Bagmati zones. Members Dr Chandra Mani Adhikari and Prem Dangal will oversee projects in Mechi, Koshi and Sagarmatha zones, whereas commission member Swarnim Wagle and secretary Sharada Prasad Trital will monitor development works in Karnali, Seti and Mahakali zones.

Meanwhile, the planning commission has also decided to host a ministerial meeting of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) after the SAARC Summit that is slated for November in Kathmandu.
