Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry – in cooperation with the government – is going to organise the third edition of Nepal International Trade Fair 2014 in Kathmandu on March 6-10.
The five-day exhibition aims at promoting Nepali products in the international arena, will be inaugurated by the President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, said the FNCCI.
The trade fair that will feature a total of 350 stalls among will have 200 stalls of Nepali products, 82 stalls with Bangladeshi products, 16 Pakistani, five Indian and two stalls for Bhutanese and Thai products each.
The Nepal International Trade Fair has already been established as a brand in the international level, the apex body of the private sector said, adding that it wants to promote local products at regional level, regional products at national level and national products at international level through the trade fair.
By now, traders and buyers from countries like China, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan, Thailand and Japan have confirmed to exhibit their products. The main attraction of this edition of trade fair will be Nepali local herbal products and gems and jewelry items. “A separate pavilion will be set up with some 50 stalls for herbal products that include aromatic oil, cosmetic products, food supplement and similar drug products.
Aimed at promoting and branding 19 products including ginger, coffee, handicraft items, cardamom and iron products identified by the government as having higher export potential under Nepal Trade Integration Strategy (NTIS), is also expected to attract foreign investment in the potential sectors.
Likewise, the fair will also provide a platform for Nepali traders to hold meetings with international businessmen on investment and business promotion.
