India and Nepal agreed to take necessary steps to accelerate various India-funded projects.

A high-level Indian delegation led by secretary of Economic Relations at the Ministry of External Affairs Sujata Mehta today discussed with finance minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat on progress of various India-funded projects in Nepal.

During the meetings, they took delays in implementing some of the projects seriously – mainly the Terai roads and Trauma Centre in Kathmandu – read a statement issued by Indian Embassy in Kathamandu.

“They have also agreed to take necessary measures to accelerate the ongoing works by expeditiously resolving various obstacles,” it further read.
The projects with Indian assistance include Terai Roads, Integrated Check Posts at Birgunj/Raxaul and Jogbani/Biratnagar, Rail Link projects from Jogbani to Biratnagar and Jayanagar to Bardibas, and Trauma Centre in Kathmandu.
