The Korean parliamentarians have donated Rs 13.2 million to Nepal for resettlement and reconstruction.
National Assembly members of the Republic of Korea donated the money to Nepal for the resettlement of displaced by the recent earthquakes and reconstruction of the damaged infrastructures.
The South Korean parliament speaker Chung Ejui-hwa handed over the cheque to Korea Red Cross Society via Nepali ambassador to Korea Kaman Singh Lama at his chamber in Seoul today.
Speaker Chung of the National Assembly – the 300-member unicameral national legislature of South Korea – on the occasion said that the Assembly has unanimously requested the Korean government to support Nepal for reconstruction works and rehabilitation of the victims of the devastating earthquakes of April 25, and the aftershocks till now.
Likewise, Nepali envoy Lama, on the occasion, lauded the Korean government, parliamentarians, businessmen, entrepreneurs, artists and charitable organizations for the financial and technical assistance.
