The season of bandh and strikes seems to make a come bank.

Union near to Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Maoist has threatened to padlock more than a dozen travel and trekking companies.

All Nepal Revolutionary Tourism Union has sent letters to different travel and trekking companies, asking them to pay pending salary and benefits to their workers at the earliest. Asking them not to implement ‘hire and fire’ policy. The trade union has also asked them to reinstate all the fired staff.

The union has asked 14 companies including Himalaya Expeditions, Explore Himalaya, Peak Promotion and Himalayan Guides to obey their diktat.

However, Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal said that it will take appropriate decision to counter threats.
