President Dr Ram Baran Yadav and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala today held discussions at the former’s official residence at Shital Niwas on proposed high level authority for reconstruction.
During the meeting, they talked about the preparation on bringing an ordinance on formulation of a high level authority for the reconstruction of the earthquake damaged areas, said President Yadav’s press advisor Rajendra Dahal.
The government is preparing to issue the ordinance as the parliament is not in operation these days. It is also planning to approve the ordinance in the meeting of council of ministers today evening.
The government was preparing to form a powerful authority before the international donors’ conference scheduled for June 25 in the capital. The conference is aimed at getting more supports for the post-earthquake reconstruction.
After preparing the Post-Disaster Needs Assesment (PDNA) report, National Planning Commission (NPC) has prepared the draft of the a powerful authority for reconstruction led by the prime minister.
