Nepali airlines cannot fly to 28 EU member countries due to Nepali authorities’ negligence on safety.
Though no airlines from Nepal flies to the European Union (EU) – due to lack of aircraft with the national flag carrier also – the European Commission (EC) has put all the Nepali airlines on its safety blacklist banning them from flying to the EU. It has published a list of unsafe carriers across the globe.
The EU that has been repeatedly asking Nepal to improve the aircraft safety, said that the current safety situation in Nepal does not leave it any other choice than to put all of Nepali carriers on the EU air safety list.
The  EU transport commissioner Siim Kallas issuing a statement said that the EU does hope that this ban will help the Nepali aviation authorities to improve aviation safety.
Meanwhile, Turkish Air is the single airlines that connects Kathmandu with the Europe. Nepal Airlines have stopped its flights to Europe due to lack of aircraft many years ago.
Likewise, in the 22nd update of unsafe carrier, the EC has said that the several countries, including Philippines, Sudan and Zambia have improved the safety, though they still remain on the banned list.
