French entrepreneurs are in Nepal searching for trade and investment opportunity.

A delegation that comprises of top officials from different companies of France specialising in sectors including transportation, construction, information technology and hydropower will focus on the government’s priority sector, stated a press note issued by the French embassy here today.

The delegation will focus on priority sectors identified by the government like hydropower/energy, urban development, infrastructure, and tourism, it read.

The government officials explained the visit as an indication that the investors have shown interest in investment in Nepal while the country has embarked on a more stable political situation after November election.

The delegation that comprises of representatives from Alstom T&D and Accor that work on power transmission sector, also has officials from Dassault Système India which provides businesses and people with virtual universes to imagine sustainable innovations.

Likewise, representatives of Alstrom Power India, which is a global leader in the world of power generation and power transmission, are also in the delegation, apart from top officials of Egis India, Lumiplan ITS India, Morpho (Safran Group), Suez Enviornment India, Sunflower India/Total, Systra and Veolia Transport.

The visiting team met with finance minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat on today. They will also hold discussions with officials from Ministry of Urban Development and Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport tomorrow.

They will also meet office-bearers and executive committee members of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) tomorrow.
