The Constitutional-Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee of the Constituent Assembly (CA) today agreed on form of judiciary and directive principles of the country.
The committee today reached agreement on the judiciary and most of the issues under fundamental rights, informed chairman of the committee Dr Baburam Bhattarai.
However, it is yet to reach a conclusion on the topic of property rights, he
said, adding that the meeting struck a deal on the directive principles of the state also. “The parties have agreed on ‘Federal Democratic Republic’ with democratic rights and the formation of federal units with proportional and participatory social system.”
Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal and Rastriya Janamorcha have taken exception to ‘Federal Democratic Republic’ but the committee has agreed to include their note of dissent, Bhattarai added. “The issues would further be discussed in the next meetings.”
