Visitor arrivals to the Asia Pacific region are projected to increase from 521 million in 2014 to 670 million in 2018, with an average annual growth rate of 6.5 per cent, according to the Asia Pacific Visitor Forecasts 2014-2018.

Arrivals from the Russian Federation to Asia Pacific are forecast to surpass the 10-million mark by end of 2016 from just below six million in 2013 with Thailand, China and Cambodia registering as the top three destination choice, it reported, adding that the Asia Pacific region will continue to enjoy an upsurge in arrivals from Korea across-the-board with a few exceptions. “By the end of 2016, total Korean arrivals to the region are predicted to jump across the 20-million barrier and thus overtaking Japan’s numbers.”
